PART TIME MUNICIPAL CLERK
The position requires a minimum of three (3) days per week with additional hours as operational requirements dictate. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Municipal Clerk is responsible for a broad range of administrative and clerical functions in accordance with The Municipalities Act and other applicable provincial legislation. The Clerk supports Council and administration by ensuring accurate record-keeping, effective communication, and legislative compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- utility billing and account maintenance
- utility and property tax payments in accordance with municipal bylaws and policies
- public inquiries via telephone, email, and in-person
- administration of municipal facility bookings and rentals
- distribution of municipal communications, including newsletters and public notices
- weekly updating of the municipal website and social media platforms
- grant applications, reporting, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- written and verbal communication skills including strong telephone etiquette
- proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a small-office environment
- Hourly Wage: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

SUMMER STUDENT
The Town of St. Brieux is accepting applications for two (2) Summer
Student positions for an 8 to 10 week term.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Municipal Administrator and/or Public
Works Department, the students will assist with a combination of outdoor
municipal duties and museum operations.
Duties:
Grass cutting, tree trimming, and general grounds maintenance
Painting and minor maintenance projects
General cleanup of municipal property and facilities
Assisting with the operation including cataloguing and tours of the
St. Brieux and District Museum
Work Schedule:
30 hours per week
6 hours per day Wednesday to Sunday
To work a combination of outdoor shifts and museum shifts
Typical hours:
8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (outdoor shifts)
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (museum shifts)
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to perform physical outdoor work in various weather conditions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable and punctual
Valid driver’s license (asset)
Term of Employment:
Approximately June 17, 2026 to August 30, 2026 (8-10 weeks)
$17.00/hour
